For the 2010 Season there will be a few of the regular rides, an old ride coming back and a new ride.

The Morning Rides

Monday thru Friday Cindy Robles will be leading this ride. Ride leaves at 6:15 in the morning behind the shop.  As to when in the spring these rides will start depends on the weather.  Best to call if you would like to find out if and when they have started.  We ask that you remember your helmet, water and wearing brightly colored clothing in the morning is best.  Days that are real foggy or there is bad weather the ride is usually cancelled.

Saturday Morning Ride.

When the weather gets nice we will be bringing back our Saturday morning ride.  Ride will leave from the back of the shop at 8am on Saturdays.  You may want to call for details and to make sure all is going off as planned before hand.

Friday Fat Tire Ride

Friday mornings going for a fun and easy Mtn bike ride.  At this time now I am thinking that the rides will leave the shop at 8 am.  I would call in advance to make sure the time has not changed.  We will ride from the shop a few miles up the rode to a very fun for any level trail.  Bring water and you helmet.  This should be a blast.

Ladies Ride

We are not sure what day yet, but there will be a ladies ride that leaves the shop at least one evening during the week. That day is yet to be determined. If you are interested in this and have a suggestion for a day let us know.  This ride should be conversationally paced.  The idea is to have fun and not leave anyone behind and by themselves.

Where to Ride

Southwest Wisconsin and the Midwest in general offer many fantastic bicycle riding experiences. From easy trail riding, to mountain biking, to some of the most challenging road cycling in the country, the Midwest is hard to beat. Many of our staff and shop patrons ride some of the most beautiful and relaxing trails and road rides in the area. Others find the challenging mountain biking trails and hilly roads to be more to their liking.  Whatever category of cyclist, or whatever your ability, we think you will enjoy spending time biking in the Southwest Wisconsin area.  Check out www.cyclesouthwestwisconsin.com

Bicycle Trails

Most of the trails in this area were created from the rails to trails movement.  This means the trails are generally easy grade (no huge hills) and connect small communities with some of the best scenic biking in the area.  Perhaps taking a few days to ride between these towns (stopping for an ice cream cone or a light lunch) and then spending the night at romantic B & B’s is your idea of a great get-away.

Mountain Biking

Although there are no real “Mountains” in the Midwest, we do have some great mountain biking. There are several state parks in the area which have nice mountain bike trails for the beginners in settings that are surprisingly peaceful. If you are an intermediate or advanced mountain biker there are challenging courses in the area that offer a good workout coupled with natural settings that will invigorate you.

Road Biking

Cycling in the Southwest Wisconsin area can be as easy or challenging as you want to make it.  Because of the varying terrain, choices of lightly traveled roads in the area range from routes with just a few rolling hills to routes that subject the rider to challenging climb after challenging climb.  Talk to our staff about where to ride and what you are interested in doing and they will be able to give you options to match your interests.

Events

Soutwest Wisconsin hosts several events through out the year. We will also share with folks events in the region we feel are worth the trip for. Events are always fun to do.
