Bicycle Advocacy
Momentum Bikes and especially owner Tim Ingram take a front seat in bicycle advocacy. Bicycle advocacy takes on many different forms in our shop. We believe that we as cyclists and bicycle shop workers need to be seen in the community and by government officials as cyclists who care about our society and all issues related to cycling. We believe that bicyclist have the right to share the road with other vehicles and at the same time be respectful of others on the road. We believe that all who can, should bike more. We also take on some responsibility to create and keep up the mountain bike trails in the area.
The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin is a statewide, membership-based, non-profit bicycle education and advocacy organization. The BFW strives to make Wisconsin a better place to bicycle by empowering citizens to build communities where bicyclists are safe to ride the roads and trails.
Safe Routes to School

Safe Routes to School
In Sept. 2008, Platteville began a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program. In the next twelve-months, community members will work together to plan safer routes to school and encourage Platteville students to bike or walk to school more often.
Please join us to:
- Build excitement for walking and biking in Platteville.
- Educate others on safety concerns relating to walking and biking.
- Plan future walking and biking routes and improvements that will be implemented through the City.
The Community Safe Routes Committee meets the third Monday of each month at 6pm. Please join us, everyone is welcome to attend. Check their website for the location and agenda.
