Bicycle Federation Launches New Advocacy Initiative
The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin (BFW) today announced a new advocacy initiative, aimed at making Wisconsin the most bicycle friendly state in America. Jack Hirt, Executive Director of the organization, said the BFW will unite cyclists in a statewide network to push for bike-friendly legislation at the state, regional and local levels.
Belmont Platteville Trail Petition
“Hey, does that paved bike trail on the northeast side of town go somewhere?”
Well, no …. NOT YET! But with your help it can connect Belmont to Platteville and to the Cheese County Trail! Please Sign the petition!
Why the trail?
I could go on and on about how fantastic a paved trail between Belmont and Platteville would be for our area (surprise, surprise). We even already have a grant to pay for this great project! We just need some Momentum for it. Local residents have been looking forward to the completion of this trail for many years. Once complete, the Belmont-Platteville Trail will link to the existing Rountree Branch trail and connect downtown Platteville and the UWP Campus with the village of Belmont and the mouth of The Cheese County Trail. The trail will provide a safe, paved 8 mile off-road path through some of the most beautiful natural lands in both towns for use by walkers, joggers and cyclists. Please join us in adding Momentum to this! Simply sign the petition here.
Thanks!
